FCA Fertilisants specializes in the research and development of fertilization formulas to meet various challenges:

All the formulas proposed are developed following research proving the effectiveness of the elements used, in particular specific microorganisms, on soils, plants and human health.

The premixes with Calkorium® and Calkonutrium® are patented and come from the brand’s research and development programs. The solutions resulting from the programs are tested on experimental farms, which allows FCA Fertilisants to obtain authorizations proving the effectiveness of the proposed innovations.

Rice fields oxygenation

Hanoi region in Vietnam

The rice fields are lands submerged in water whose soils are not very fertile because they are not oxygenated. The FCA Fertilisants team of experts intervened in the Hanoi region to find a solution to the lack of oxygenation of the land, wich was causing yield problems.

Following this visit, formulas based on anaerobic bacteria were specially designed to allow microorganisms to live with or without oxygen in the earth and thus allow the plant to feed

Stagnation in potato and carrot production

Dawn in France

One of the first customers that FCA Fertilisants accompanied was a potato and carrot producer whose soils were characterized by a slower life. This “soil fatigue” reduced the amount of nutrients naturally present in the earth in an assimilable form, which prevented plants from absorbing the amount of organic nutrients they needed.

This is how one of the brand’s flagship Calkonutrium® fertilization supplements was created, which has a “energizing” effect on the biological activity of the soil.

Corn water stress

Bothaville in South Africa

The Bothaville region of South Africa suffers from significant water stress, which slows yields. Like most crops in the region, the corn plots visited by the FCA fertilisants team produced plants with shallow roots. This poor root development did not allow plants to absorb enough water and grow optimally.

Fertilizer supplements with specific power on root development have therefore been created to allow the root to grow by capturing more water. This innovation now makes it possible to develop and secure the yields of plots in this region.

Leaching and insecticides on citrus groves

State of Florida in the United States

The University of Florida academic institution uses FCA Fertilisants expertise to solve a double problem in Florida citrus groves: plant resistance to insecticides and soil erosion. The soils of the plantations visited were unstructured, so the plants were no longer able to defend themselves against insects despite the use of insecticides at three times the usual quantities. The low level of biological activity in the soils generated by intensive farming practices has also caused problems of erosion in the plantations.

Calkonutrium® fertilizers with specific power for the sanitation and biological activity of soils have been developed in order to replace pathogens with microorganisms that guarantee plant health and reduce leaching.

Water pollution

State of Connecticut in the United States

Problems with algal blooms in a water supply have been reported to the FCA Fertilisants team by Western Connecticut State University. The origin of the algae came not from the water supply but from the leaching of the surrounding soils. By being unstructured, the soils created leaching allowing polluting inputs to proliferate up to the reserve and thus generate the multiplication of algae.

The premixes used in our fertilizers and in our fertilization supplements have been developed to help microorganisms grow and stimulate themselves. This allows plants to absorb more elements, which reduces input residues and their pollution in water.

Brown rot on pods

Ivory Coast in Africa

Brown rot on cocoa pods was observed by our experts in Ivory Coast in a plantation suffering from a significant drop in production. As the land preparation work was not taken into account when planting, the soil’s fertility was poor. The soil could then no longer defend itself naturally against pathogens, which generated brown rot on the pods.

Calkonutrium solutions allowing soils to naturally fight against pathogens in a tropical climate have been developed, thus generating optimal plant health.
